Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Nursing Operations ensures efficient and effective deployment of nursing initiatives and processes and acts as key interface for cross functional initiatives and responsibilities.

What you will do in this role:

• You will develop a facility framework and strategy to prioritize, delegate, and execute initiatives that align with the division and enterprise strategy for nursing operations.​

• ​​You will provide feedback to CNO on nursing initiatives, cross-functional initiative progress,​ standards of care, and clinical processes based on key performance metrics.

• ​​You will assist in the development of clinical protocols that use evidence based best practices to provide consistency and drive performance outcomes​.

• ​​You will evaluate projects or initiative strategic fit with the organization’s objectives to guide the allocation of human, financial, and technological resources.​

• ​​You will build strategic alliances and partnerships within the organization to collaboratively execute business strategies​.

• ​​You will interface with cross-functional facility leadership to oversee initiatives impacting nursing aligned with HCA division strategies and facility goals.​

• ​​You will engage regularly with facility leadership and staff to identify unique operational needs and assist with development of action plans​.

• You will plan and manage projects, including assigned personnel, multiple competing projects, or resource demands to meet project deadlines on time and within budget.

• You will collaborate with analytics experts to track impact of initiatives across key nursing metrics (e.g., efficiency, quality, turnover, etc.)​.

• ​​You will monitor and evaluate reports consistently, highlighting areas of change / focus and suggesting action plans​.

• You will utilize expert knowledge of clinical systems that support operational efficiencies as it relates to clinical nursing initiatives.

• ​​You will interpret business data for the purpose of identifying patterns, trends, and variances in facility operations​.

• You will understand complexities and intricate relationships among issues or problems.

• You will recognize gaps in existing information that is important for fully understanding an issue or problem.

• ​​You will work collaboratively with facility, division and corporate leadership to improve key nursing-driven metrics​.

• ​​You will practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” and support the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support

• Current state nursing licensure

• BSN required

• Master in Nursing, Nursing Administration or business related degree

• One year of experience in hospital analytics preferred

• Five years of experience in hospital operations
