Vanderbilt University Evaluation Coordinator, School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee

The Evaluation Coordinator is part of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Dean’s Office and is a key contributor responsible for administrative and operational tasks related to all facets of the school’s educational evaluation program. This position will support the Evaluation Director in day- to-day responsibilities including data collections, summarizations, process innovations, grant reporting, meeting preparations, and general administrative duties. Additionally, this role provides direct implementation support for VUSN’s Evaluation Committee and Evaluator Workshops.

This position reports directly to the Director for Assessment and Evaluation. The work unit is responsible to organize institutional data collections, reporting, and collaborations for educational improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordination of Program Functions

▪ Coordinate school-wide Evaluation Committee to include meeting administration, regular data collection, report generation, and document maintenance.

▪ Coordinate school-wide Evaluator’s Workshop to include meeting administration, community development, materials creation, and resource maintenance.

▪ Coordinate calendar of standard data availabilities and uses across the school leadership.

▪ Support Director and Student Workers in developing and maintaining internal evaluation data store that can be used in educational grant and program activities.

▪ Provide support for purchasing activities and budget reconciliation processes.

Continuous Improvement Activities

▪ Contribute to digital innovation notebook with director and student workers.

▪ Role model administrative innovations with software tools such as MS Teams, REDCap, and responsible use of AI-based tools.

▪ Answer questions and act as a resource to students, peers, and faculty on evaluation data systems.

▪ Communicate effectively, address challenges proactively, build consensus, and pursue relevant curiosities with Evaluation Director, Student Workers and wider VUSN community.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience specific to a higher education or academic setting.

• 1-2 years work experience in a higher education or academic setting or equivalent graduate education related to data systems or program evaluation.

▪ Experience with troubleshooting in multiple areas with a variety of parties.

▪ Ability to multitask and manage complex scheduling.

▪ Skill in learning data systems and use of data collection platforms, such as REDcap.

▪ Knowledge of Microsoft systems, including comfort with MS Teams.

▪ Knowledge of project management principles and data management practices.

▪ Enjoys learning along with student workers.

▪ Pursues professional development opportunities.

▪ Detail-oriented, including exercising care with communication, evaluation budget, and datasets.
