United States Fleet Forces Command QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in Naval Business Center, Pennsylvania

Summary You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the located in the Program Administration Branch (Code 1430.1) Quality Assurance Division (Code 1430) Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (Code 1400)(NFPC), in Philadelphia Pennsylvania a detachment of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Portsmouth, Virginia. Responsibilities You will act in support to the assigned code supervisors to self-identify reoccurring conditions and trending activities. You will monitor surveillances, which have been written against their assigned codes, communicate to the supervisor of the conditions and provide follow-up activities to ensure the corrective action was completed and effective in resolving the issue. You will use QPS data to conduct internal processes/program reviews and assessments to identify areas in need of improvement. You will assist process owners with development of surveillance attribute sheets and code specific surveillance target plans. You will coordinate activities with any external auditing agency by acting as a liaison between the external party and NFPC personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting surveillance of industrial equipment and operations, including maintenance, inspection, testing, and trend analysis. Investigating and documenting near misses and accidents, disseminating lessons learned to personnel. Demonstrating knowledge and experience of quality assurance principles, practices, techniques, and relevant industrial operation duties such as lifting and handling. Developing and maintaining metrics for management decision-making related to equipment maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrades Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing experience or involvement in Quality Assurance, preferably in NNSY/NFPC or manufacturing environments. Demonstrating proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word, for accurate data entry and professional communication. Demonstrating familiarity with MS Access is preferred. Demonstrating abilities in prioritization, organization, documentation, and process improvement are essential. Possessing strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a keen aptitude for learning.
