Naval Supply Systems Command SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Naval Station Complex, California

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Industrial Support Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will provide long-term leadership and management continuity and expertise to the organization. You will serve as both Department Director and as the Commanding Officer's subject matter expert (SME) for the program management of the Center of Excellence for Maritime Industrial Support (MIS). You will Serves as the primary liaison for MIS supply support matters for/between NAVSEA, DLA, CNSP and NAVSUP. You will have knowledge of Navy Logistics principles, concepts, regulations, policies, and relative precedent decisions. You will develop and manage a consistent, standard set of metrics for the management of industrial activities from a logistics support viewpoint. You will have knowledge of US Navy ships and fundamental knowledge of ships systems, principles of operation, and knowledge of ship repair and maintenance activities. You will Obtains feedback continuously from customers to measure their satisfaction with quality of support, evaluates the program and implements changes to accommodate changing customer needs. You will serve as a key advisor for providing authority and critical guidance relative to program operating strategies and plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector directing, coordinating and overseeing logistics programs, functions and operations to provide integrated logistics support and maritime industrial support directly to the fleet and to various organizations responsible for conversion, repair, maintenance, and new construction of ships and vessels. Supervisory experience must include directing, coordinating, or overseeing work of team lead(s) and/or subordinates. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Directs and oversees logistics management operations to include planning, coordinating, and evaluating processes related to maritime industrial support, logistics support and material management; 2) Recommends modification to command programs and policies based on analysis of studies and statistical data; 3) Develops oral and written presentations to help develop policy and resolve problems for various integrated logistical and material support; 4) Ensures the provision of cost-effective customer support via ongoing review of customer service; 5) Provides leadership for logistics management staff to include assigning and reviewing work, setting priorities, and communicating technical and administrative guidance.
