The Position

Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

The Nevada Department of Education (DOE) is recruiting to fill an Administrative Services Officer 2 position in Carson City. This position will allow department support to restructure workflow processes and ensure the products and services provided to DOE, Governor's Finance Office, and Legislative Counsel Bureau are consistent and meet the highest standards for quality and efficiency. The incumbent will oversee fiscal operations for the Office of Department Support; establish goals and objectives; ensure sufficient resources are allocated to centralized fiscal functions; and ensure timely services, documentation, and follow-up as required. In coordination with the Administrative Services Officer 3, manage DOE's biennial budget submission and establish processes, timelines, and requirements for DOE budget submission in accordance with guidance from the Governor's Finance Office. The incumbent will also review and approve contracts in CETS at Budget Account approval level, facilitate IT budget transactions, and other duties as assigned. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and four years of professional experience including two years of responsibility for major business operations/functions such as grants administration, contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, human resources, Information Technology or facilities maintenance and construction; and two years of experience formulating, developing and analyzing program or agency budgets; and fiscal management; one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
