The Position
DMV Services Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. This announcement will be used to fill multiple positions with the DMV, within the Central Services Division, located in Carson City. The supervisor I position supervises several department units including Titles, registration, special plates, and mailroom. As a supervisor you could be responsible for up to 2 Team Leads and 30 technicians when fully staffed.
The supervisor will maintain the office operations and security for these departments. As a supervisor you are responsible for interpreting Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Codes related to the department. The supervisor maintains a professional, courteous and friendly manner for your team. The supervisor must accurately and fairly evaluate situations that arise while being encouraging to your team. Evaluations need to be done in a timely manner. Review, update and complete all reports as assigned within the predetermined time frame. Assist with the staffing needs of your departments. Maintain the office supplies/materials and equipment in the office. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of varied and increasingly responsible experience related to registration/titling of motor vehicles or licensing motor vehicle operators, one year of which was equivalent to a DMV Services Technician IV; OR two years of experience equivalent to a DMV Services Technician III.The Examination
