PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. EHS Manager in New Albany, Ohio

As the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager you will oversee a comprehensive EHS programs for PPG Advanced Surface Technologies (AST) manufacturing site in New Albany, Ohio. You will report directly to the CEO of AST and serve as the partner for the AST business by partnering with the AST Germany site and Corporate EHS and Product Stewardship. You will provide leadership and training to provide a safe and healthful workplace for our team while ensuring compliance with environment, health, and safety regulations to minimize our risk and liabilities. Key Responsibilities Be a primary environmental, health and safety lead; Provide direction and guidance to site management in the development of EHS goals that improve. Dedicate time on the production floor engaging (communicating, influencing, collaborating) with employees, supervisors and management to support a "One PPG" EHS culture. Coordinate the incident management program, investigate EHS incidents, support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to include worker's compensation management. Provide technical advice on EHS regulations, ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations; Prepare regulatory reports and develop solutions to a variety of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues. Conduct critical industrial hygiene and occupational health tasks such as air monitoring, noise monitoring, ventilation assessments, and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs. Lead multiple safety teams and committees. Conduct comprehensive reviews and self-audits of environmental, health, and safety programs to assure compliance to PPG standards and regulatory requirements; Recommend strategies to achieve improvements in EHS goals. Evaluate the EHS impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed. Provide oversight, audit readiness for compliance audits and corrective action management. Lead solutions to situations, using legally or accepted techniques, procedures, or methods. Ensure compliance with environmental permits and oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal) and Air Permit Program. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in safety management, Safety Sciences, Occupational Health, Environmental Management or related discipline. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or related industries. Professional designation as Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and agreement standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, Workers' Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental training.
