Job Title: Director Safety and Sustainability Culture
Position Summary:
The Director of Safety and Sustainability Culture will be responsible for developing and driving the company's cultural strategy, focusing on instilling an actively caring mindset among all employees. This role will lead efforts to ensure that colleagues are vigilant, look out for each other, hold themselves and their peers accountable, and prioritize environmental sustainability in their daily activities and business decisions. The ideal candidate will be an expert in behavioral science and will create and implement a behavior-based cultural program that integrates safety and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive culture strategy that promotes an actively caring mindset and accountability for safety and environmental sustainability.
Lead the design and execution of a behavioral-based cultural program that integrates safety and environmental sustainability into daily activities and business decisions.
Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to embed safety and sustainability principles into the company's values, policies, and practices.
Conduct regular assessments and surveys to measure the effectiveness of cultural initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
Provide training, coaching, and support to employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
Develop and deliver communication strategies to promote safety and sustainability awareness and engagement across the organization.
Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the company's safety and sustainability culture.
Serve as a role model and advocate for safety and environmental sustainability, demonstrating a commitment to these values in all interactions and decisions.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Behavioral Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety, environmental sustainability, or a related field, with a focus on cultural and behavioral change.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful cultural and behavioral programs in a corporate setting.
Strong understanding of behavioral science principles and their application to safety and sustainability.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
Passion for safety and environmental sustainability, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
