Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Temporary Research Assistant for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.The Temporary Research Assistant will supports grant funded research and demonstration projects. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Communicates daily with Principal Investigator and related faculty and staff on assigned projects.
  • Recruits study participants, schedules study visits, obtains informed consents for study participation and maintaining necessary study documentation.
  • Conducts research activities included but not limited to development and distribution of surveys and facilitating focus groups and/or interviews., and basic analysis of quantitative and qualitative data with guidance of PI and related faculty.
  • Drafts reports and articles at the guidance of PI and related faculty.
  • Provides coordinative assistance to PI and related faculty/staff by coordinating projects, programs, functions, and organizing project operations.
  • Supports projects through tracking progress, organizing evaluation protocols, managing paperwork, preparing materials, and tracking publications and presentations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus one (1) year of related research experience.
  • Experience and proficiency using PC software programs including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe Professional and Internet.
  • Educational experience can be used in lieu of employment experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional document creation and markup.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using statistical software such as Stata, SPSS and SAS.
  • Spanish fluency.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate noise.
