Valley Health Medical Group is looking for an Inpatient Pediatrician to join its team!

The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, is an acute care, not-for-profit hospital with 431 licensed beds. In 2021, 50,120 individuals were admitted to Valley, 61,884 people were treated in the Emergency Department, and 3,875 babies were born. In addition to its Centers of Excellence, Valley also offers the services of a comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Childbirth, Center for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, a Total Joint Replacement Center, a Neuroscience Center, a Center for Bariatric Surgery, and Weight-Loss Management, a Center for Sleep Medicine, The Gamma Knife Center, and the Kireker Center for Child Development, among others.

The construction of The New Valley Hospital, due to be completed in late 2023, will be a 900,000 square foot state-of-the-art healthcare destination site on a 40-acre campus in Paramus. Position Summary:

Valley Medical Group is seeking an Inpatient Pediatrician to work as a hospitalist, joining our current experienced staff and be part of our growing Valley/Mount Sinai Children’s Service team in New Jersey. The in-house pediatrician will care of children ages 0-18 years and provide pediatric inpatient services in accordance with the policy regarding PCCM/Hospitalist Division of Coverage of Floor Patients. The inpatient pediatrics team, provide emergency and ongoing care for patients in Intensive Care Unit, Intensive Care Nursery and newborns in Labor and Delivery as needed and in collaboration with the neonatologist or ICU specialist. The Inpatient Pediatrician in the nursery will be responsible for the care of newborns from our partner practices, newborns without a pediatrician in the area, or newborns with no previously chosen pediatrician. Pediatrician will attend cesarean section deliveries of patients, deliveries of private patients, and all high-risk vaginal deliveries >34 weeks. The hospitalist team respond to telephone calls from General Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine patients and help coordinate care with our outpatient team. The inpatient pediatrician will provide pediatric consultations, at the request of the Pediatric Emergency Room physician, as needed. Hospitalists participate in departmental and assigned Hospital committee meetings. Always demonstrates and models service excellence behavior and leads efforts for monitoring and improving patient/family experience. Responds with concern, cooperation, and respect. Establishes cooperative working relationships with all individuals with whom contact is made. Delegates clinical tasks appropriate to the level of training of each staff member. Ensures the professional development of self and team. Work on clinical projects and initiatives at the request of the VMG Chair of Children Services. Typical work schedule is at least three (3) - twelve (12) hour shifts per week.

Position Qualifications:

• M.D or D.O from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy from a recognized institution

• Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Pediatrics

• A valid New Jersey State Medical license, DEA, and CDS is required.

• BLS, PALS required and ACLS preferred

• Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
