General Description
STEM teachers educate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Their duties include, but not limited to:
developing STEM curricula
planning daily lessons
measuring learner progress.
We are seeking a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills for the role of STEM teacher. The STEM teacher will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents. To ensure success as a STEM teacher, candidates should have a strong quantitative background, demonstrate empathy, and have good written and verbal communication skills.
Ultimately, a top-notch STEM teacher will have excellent classroom management abilities and engage students with the subject matter.

Qualifications
A successful applicant must:
Have earned bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or have 2 years’ experience in education, curriculum design, or related field
Knowledge of the STEM disciplines
Minimum of two years working with middle and/or high school students in educational environments
Minimum of two years in a formal supervisory role
Success with and commitment to supporting an inclusive environment
Evidence of respect for and experience working with students with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs
Proven successful advisement and mentoring experience
Proven ability to work effectively independently and with a team to reach desired outcomes
Experience and knowledge with community outreach and partnerships
Ability to chaperone and/or transport STEP students traveling to regional state and national field trips, including conferences and college tours

About the Research Foundation
The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) was established as a not-for-profit educational corporation chartered by the State of New York in 1963. RFCUNY supports CUNY faculty and staff in identifying and obtaining external support (pre-award) from government and private sponsors and is responsible for the administration of all such funded programs (post-award).
