Overview

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Administrative Aide II to join the Expository Writing Program. This individual will perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Assist with the prioritization of office activities and delegate to and monitor work of student and/or casual employees. Compose letters and correspondence. Perform general word processing, spreadsheet and data entry duties utilizing intermediate-level functions. Monitor moderately complex budgets and/or grants.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent up to 2 years of specialized training or equivalent; Associates degree; or some College.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associates degree or some College).

Preferred Experience:
1-2 years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding (40-60+ words per minute). Good proofreading and writing skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.529. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
