Disney Entertainment Analyst, Pricing in New York, New York

The Pricing team is a part of Linear Revenue Yield Management within Disney Ad Sales, a division within the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution Segment of The Walt Disney Company. Our primary responsibilities include: Ratecard selling schedule creation and management, inventory management, deal approvals, and avails reporting.The group regularly interacts with a broad array of other departments including Planning, Revenue Analytics, all levels of Sales, Global Ad Ops, Network Scheduling, Network Promo, Traffic, Tech, Sales Enablement, Research, Client Solutions and Finance. The goal of the team is to maximize revenue and respond to advertiser needs through inventory management across both upfront and scatter marketplace deals.

Job Summary:

The Analyst position supports the Pricing Management team for a network or group of networks. Working closely with Planners, AMs and Traffic, the Analyst works to ensure especially short term ad inventory is used to satisfy deal commitments and return highest value for the network’s P&L/revenue goal. Support comes in varied forms, including reporting on avails in the AdVisor system or via BI, approving re-expressions in AdVisor and solicitation of cash and ADU to fill avails. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • In AdVisor, assess and approve or modify/reject (RXP) requests coming from AMs to move inventory within booked deals with consideration of revenue/P&L impact. Offer feedback as indicated.

  • Mentor AMs re acceptable (RXP) inventory change requests relative to their deals and in consideration of financial impact.

  • Work with network announced schedules to ensure all content hours are married to a sales opportunity within the AdVisor sales system. Flag concerns where observed to Sr. Manager/Manager Pricing for that network.

  • Assess short term avails to make recommendation to multiple constituents (AMs, Planners, Traffic) regarding short term usage tactics.

  • Inventory reporting or other projects as directed by Sr Pricing Management

Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 2+ years business experience, with some understanding of Media Pricing or Planning in a national sales organization required.

  • Quantitative-thinker, with interest in problem solving and detail orientation.

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a team oriented, dynamic sales organization.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $81,600 - $99,600 per year .The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
