Kroll, LLC Associate, Data Insights and Forensics in New York, New York

We're looking for an Associate to support our Data Insights and Forensics practice. This role involves the ability to assist teams in collaborative problem solving and execution. It also requires the individual to assist leadership to grow existing and build new client relationships and to bring their technical and commercial experience to shape the future of our practice. A fundamental understanding of digital assets, alongside structured and unstructured blockchain data analytics, and the interrelation between the two is paramount.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Working with teams on complex open-ended investigative crypto and data projects to discover anomalies, unusual behaviors/trends, and to measure risks for the purposes of forensic and regulatory investigations, compliance, and litigation work. Example areas of work will include fraud, bribery and corruption, sanctions, money laundering, data governance and privacy, market abuse, insider trading and much more
  • Assisting with scoping, designing, and developing crypto data engineering and analytic solutions using a range of tools and analytic techniques
  • Preparing project reports, thought leadership, presentations, visualizations, and technical documentation
  • Supporting research and development of services used on a range of crypto projects
  • Collaborating creatively with Kroll colleagues to create cross-functional value-add solutions with technology, data, and analytics components
  • Supporting the growth of our practice on recruitment initiatives including, resume reviews, candidate testing and interviewing

Essential Traits:
  • You have 2 or more years' experience working within the crypto arena
  • You are proficient with crypto and blockchain data fundamentals
  • You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Commerce, or other STEM education
  • You have a qualification as a crypto investigator
  • You have demonstratable research experience within the crypto arena

Preferred skills include:
  • Use of forensic technology e.g. TRM Labs
  • Knowledge and application of statistical techniques
  • Understanding and/or development of machine learning approaches, including Natural Language Processing and pattern recognition techniques
  • Experience of conducting model validations, controls testing and screening/monitoring system tuning and optimization

The current New York salary range for this position is $60, 000 - $90, 000
