As an Associate Director, you are an integrated production leader at Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness. You own and manage large scale client engagements and are viewed as the operation lead for your portfolio of businesses. You partner with Account Management and other internal and external stake holders to lead multiple 360 campaigns that will include higher-level launch planning exercises. You manage and mentor a team of associate, mid- and senior level project managers. You will lead by example and impart a streamlined process based on flexibility, with quality of product, budget, and timing top of mind. You have a passion for efficiency, and you are creative in your solutions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an advanced understanding of agency operations, project management methodologies and tools. You will be responsible to lead diverse and dynamic teams to deliver solutions for our clients.​ You are accountable for your portfolio’s profitability and resource utilization. The successful candidate will use their superior problem-solving skills, judgment, and excellent relationship-building skills to be a leader and mentor for the team and the agency overall.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor, thought leadership, flexibility, and the ability to handle the ambiguity that can present itself in your daily responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Project Managers of varying levels across a portfolio of clients

  • Understand how to manage the design and development of large pharmaceutical and wellness integrated advertising campaigns

  • Functions as the "go to” expert with a focus on flexibility when evolving process and lead the team toward solutions

  • Foster senior to executive-level relationships, creating an atmosphere where issues regarding staffing, team performance, budget and client satisfaction are actively discussed

  • A natural leader, with a focused interest in operations and finding efficiencies in ways that work for the agency as well as clients

Scoping and Budget Tracking:

  • Partner with the Account and Strategy team when scoping annual deliverables by developing project descriptions, project assumptions and staffing related to the scope of work

  • Responsible for revising significant scope of work changes that will impact the overall client budget, staffing, and resources for the agency

  • Mentor your team by providing clear direction for project estimates and SOW revisions

  • Educate your team on the fundamental economics and overall health of client business

  • Partner with Finance and Account Management in leading client finance meetings and address project budget questions in real time

  • Understand the relationship between scopes, burn, actuals, agency staffing, and how it relates to the brand and agency profitability

  • Extensive experience negotiating with client and internal teams on project deliverables, scopes of work and staff resourcing

Staff Development:

  • Engage in the development of mid to senior team members through mentoring and training

  • Create actionable development plans accompanied by effective, ongoing dialogue with your team (including difficult, timely feedback)

  • Mentor mid to senior level team members in problem solving and course correcting projects this should include departments outside of project management

  • Participate in recruiting and hiring practices

  • Participate in department initiatives and programs

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years project management experience in an advertising or marketing environment including:

  • 4-5 years of experience working in pharmaceutical advertising

  • 2-3 years of experience in launching a new drug or drug indication to market

  • 2-3 years of experience managing and mentoring direct reports

  • Demonstrated breadth of project experience including (but not limited to) big idea development, campaign execution, content production, digital and social media executions, and standard websites

  • Self-starter who can manage multiple streams of business, resolve conflicts (both project and staff based) and make sound decisions that will drive a team toward a solution

  • Solutions-oriented with the ability to communicate clearly and proactively with clients, internal departments and agency leaders

  • Highly knowledgeable practitioner of various project management methodologies and workflows, showing a love for using and often blending the best of these to solve business needs

Compensation Range: $91,000.00 - $154,000.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off. The Company anticipates the application deadline for this job posting will be 09/30/24.
