Infrastructure Engineering Inc. Civil Engineer II in New York, New York

1.Conceive, design, build, operate, construct, and maintain multifaceted infrastructure projects and systems using civil engineering principles, methodologies, and formulas in the areas of Bridges/Structural (bridges, structure evaluation, retaining walls, underground structures, large drainage facilities, parking facilities), Transportation(road/highway, traffic, aviation, and transit), and Construction Engineering and Inspection (value engineering, schedule and budget evaluations, quality control and assurance, and constructability reviews);2.Analyze long range plans, survey reports, maps, and other data to plan and design civil engineering projects in areas such as Bridges/Structural, Transportation, Site/Civil, and Construction Engineering while also analyzing and interpreting a variety of advanced technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form;3.Plan and design multifaceted bridge structures and transportation systems in line with industry and government regulations using computer design software and programs such as AutoCAD, and prepare quantity calculations and cost estimates for each project assigned;4.Analyze the results of tests on building materials such as cement concrete on bridge and structural projects in order to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, while implementing civil engineering quality control and continuous improvement standards and measures;5.Compute and analyze construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the civil engineering planning and risk-analysis stages of a project;6.Compile and draft permit applications to municipal, state, and federal agencies verifying projects comply with respective regulations, and perform surveying operations to establish site layouts, reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction teams;7.Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility, and assist in the preparation and presentation of highly advanced and sophisticated civil engineering technical information to both team members and clients; and8.Perform moderate client interaction and coordination, target potential clients with new civil engineering project opportunities, and carry out marketing, inspection, project management, and document control.A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering is required (a Foreign Educational Equivalent is acceptable). Also required is 24 months of experience as a Civil Engineer or Site Design Engineer. Education or experience (which may have been gained concurrently) must include at least 12 months of demonstrated ability in utilizing the following computer design software: AutoCAD. $82,619.94 per year is the wage for this position. The place of employment is at Infrastructure Engineering Inc. located at 14 Penn Plaza, 225 West 34th Street, Floor 21, New York, NY 10122; however, Infrastructure Engineering Inc. will allow telecommuting from home within the same Bureau of Labor Statistics Area as the place of employment location no more than three days per week.
