Nexstar Media Group Director, Newscast in New York, New York
Direct daily newscast and other live and taped programs while represented by the DGA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as television director for locally produced programs including, but not limited to: Newscasts, live events parades, debates,
Manage and supervise technical crew during pre-production sessions.
Code the daily newscast for Ross OverDrive.
Prepare show rundowns with camera blocking for floor crew.
Direct live broadcasts, using Ross OverDrive and/or TD operating a manual switcher.
Coordinate with show producers during development and scriptwriting.
Provide creative and technical feedback to production manager to facilitate show growth and flexibility.
Complete Director reports after each newscast.
May be asked to perform other production responsibilities such as Floor Directing.
Position requires performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum five years of directing live and taped long format live broadcasts.
Experience with equipment such as: Ross OverDrive, Ross Streamline, ENPS, Bitcentral.
Familiarity with ENPS newsroom computer system desirable.
Demonstrated ability to supervise technical crews, direct the room.
Flexible working weekends and holidays required.
Ability to switch your own shows a plus.
