Citigroup IA Senior Analyst (AVP) - Risk Monitoring & Response in New York, New York

This role is a part of Internal Audit’s Risk Monitoring & Response Team which is responsible for leading the IA emerging risk identification program. This function provides an independent and aggregate view of Citigroup’s emerging risks across the three lines of defense. The Risk Monitoring & Response Assistant Vice President (AVP) role will work with senior management from IA’s business and risk areas to identify, assess, and monitor a portfolio of emerging risks. In collaboration with IA stakeholders, the AVP will also develop and recommend audit responses, propose audit activities and identify metrics for ongoing measurement and management of these exposures.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the execution of the quarterly emerging risk process, which includes working with key stakeholders to identify and assess risks and maintaining the risk Inventory.

· Research topics and develop analytics on industry trends and macroeconomic indicators and proactively applies quantitative disciplines to identify potential areas emerging risks.

· Monitor industry best practices, leveraging external sources to assess emerging trends, tools, and strategies, and recommend and drive enhancements to the emerging risk framework.

· Support the development and maintenance of various risk reports, dashboards, and data analytics in support of new and existing risks.

· Develop and deliver audience-appropriate presentations and trainings to influence risk culture and the identification of emerging risks.

· Establish effective business relationships and assist management in understanding of risks, internal controls and risk mitigation.

· Participate in IA Leadership meetings and calls (including Chief Auditor Quarterly Updates, Emerging Risk Working Group meetings, Audit Planning/Quarterly Refresh calls, etc.) to provide strategic updates as it relates to emerging and enterprise-wide systemic risks.

Qualifications and Competencies

· 5-8 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry with experience in enterprise risk management or related discipline (i.e., counterparty, credit, liquidity, market, operational, and/or retail risk), management consulting or relevant role

· Good understanding of macroeconomic and political developments and their impact on financial markets; good understanding of interdependencies between different asset classes, especially how these may change during a market events

· Demonstrate financial and/or risk reporting knowledge as well as experience from the business and/or technical area desired

· Proven thought leader abilities with experience in writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting cogently on a range of topics to senior management

· Ability to quickly analyze granular details, summarize top-level trends and adeptly identify key drivers of the trends

· Excellent organizational, follow-up and time management skills. Previous experience in project management a plus

· Self-motivated and flexible; ability both to work independently and to work with and receive direction from a variety of individuals

· High proficiency in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

· Understanding of data programming languages such as python, R, and/or SQL

· Knowledge of Dodd Frank Act and Banking Regulations a plus

· Audit experience a plus

Education

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a strong academic background in Business, Economics, Financial Analysis, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.

· Actively pursuing or recent completion FRM or CFA, strongly desired.

$109,120.00 - $163,680.00
