Jr. Facilities Assistant


About the Role:

As a Junior Facilities Assistant, you will provide essential support to the facilities management team in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional work environment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about facilities operations. You will assist with various tasks related to building maintenance, office operations, and facility coordination to ensure the efficient functioning of our workplace.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing furniture, and troubleshooting minor building issues.
  • Perform daily inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cleanliness issues.
  • Support the facilities team in coordinating repairs, maintenance projects, and service requests with external vendors and contractors.
  • Help maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials needed for facility maintenance and operations.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms for meetings, events, and other activities as needed.
  • Respond promptly to employee requests and inquiries regarding facility issues, ensuring timely resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of common areas, including break rooms, restrooms, and lobby areas.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and space reconfigurations as directed by facilities management.
  • Provide general administrative support, such as filing documents, organizing files, and scheduling appointments.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support facility-related projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree or vocational training in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field, preferred or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, or related role is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of building systems and maintenance concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with staff and external vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with facilities management software or systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for facility operations.
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Certification in CPR, first aid, or other relevant safety training, preferred.


"The pay range for this position is $21.19- $22.00 per hour ; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered."
