Key job responsibilities

As a Managed Spend Strategist, you will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for project managing and winning large and often complex deals with customers. You will support and partner with Account Executives, coordinating with internal teams to develop offerings that meet customer requirements. As you accomplish this work, you will flag gaps and inefficiencies in our approach and drive process improvements across stakeholder teams (Finance, Legal, Product, Sales, Tech, etc.). You will lead Business Plan development in coordination with Sales Leaders, creating a strategy for the year working back from Finance targets and coordinating specific trainings and strategies for your assigned territory.

The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated pipeline and project management experience necessary to effectively support complex deals across many stakeholders and teams in a high growth business. They will be able to solve business and technical requirements for our customer and partners in coordination with stakeholder teams. Successful candidates will possess demonstrated ability to think strategically, use high judgement in ambiguity, quickly adapt to frequent changes in process and capabilities, analytically assess business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

Key job responsibilities:

• Assess a deal for pursuit, work with internal teams to develop a compelling offer, project manage stakeholder teams, draft a business case for Finance approval and coordinate with Sales to win

• Coordinate complex negotiations and lead the deal management process through customer onboarding

• Support sales teams with resources, trainings and best practices for finding opportunities and pursuing deals without DSG support

• Align and develop Business Plans with Sales, then report on progress vs. plan based on Finance targets

• Influence existing processes and product offerings to improve and iterate on behalf of customers

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience developing and improving complex deals/processes/products requiring collaboration across multiple internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of procurement and source to pay processes and solutions or equivalent experience

  • Experience identifying trends and needs to improve an already closed large-scale technology deal

  • Experience working in or with a sales organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $176,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
