Citigroup Product Developer, Global Spread Products - Vice President- NEW YORK (Resident) in New York, New York

Citi is seeking an experienced Product Development professional, focusing on regulatory initiatives within our financing and securitization businesses. The role is within Spreads Products in our Markets Division and sits directly within Front Office. This role will aim to improve controls by streamlining and simplifying end-to-end technology processes within Spread Products. This person will work closely with others focused on initiatives across front office, risk & control, finance, operations, and technology to help execute strategic goals.

The Product Development team sits at the intersection of sales, trading, structuring, capital markets, origination, and technology with responsibility for implementing process improvements, analyzing business requirements, translating user needs into functional specifications and realizing senior management's vision. Responsibilities also include defining the system scope and leading process changes from requirements through implementation. Our team oversees a wide array of front office systems including origination, pricing and risk, inventory management, securitization, and database management, as well as business intelligence and reporting.

Background: Spread Products is the primary source of capital for corporations, governments, and non-profits, providing liquidity and innovative solutions globally across the credit and securitized markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership within the Product Development team and represent Spread Products in cross-functional working groups

  • Partner with teams across other business lines, the credit risk organization, finance, operations, transformation, and technology

  • Assess technology offerings, find synergies and best in class features that can be applied consistently across various lines of business, promoting consistency and enhanced data quality

  • Help define the proposed target state architecture ensuring that it aligns to business needs, and resolves problems identified in existing disparate processes

  • Provide meaningful feedback on input received from other working group stakeholders, developing a consensus on key business requirements

  • Ensure all requirements are clearly documented, approved and developed per specification

  • Work with in-business partners to ensure successful adoption and implementation are achieved

  • Present management with proposed strategies and updates

  • Project examples include Reg W controls, sanction screening and KYC streamlining, and Reg O requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidate is required to have a BA/BS

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, technology, or business consulting, with leadership or management roles.

  • Knowledge of fixed income, credit, and rates related markets and products

  • Experience leading large-scale cross functional transformation projects

  • Demonstrated ability in managing and delivering complex projects under tight deadlines with changing priorities with multiple functional groups (front office, technology, product control, risk & control, etc)

  • Articulate, polished presenter with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Must have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and inquisitive with an interest in financial markets

  • Proven track record as change agent, with ability to encourage and embrace innovative ideas and solutions

  • Front office experience or interest in origination and portfolio management for lending and securitization products preferred

  • Regulatory background preferred

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, with an innate ability to form strong partnerships across multiple groups including trading, business management, product control, MQA and technology

  • Experience with SQL, database management and business intelligence tools is preferred

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
