Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions Access Programs and SEEK, the SEEK SeniorAdmissions Advisor will identify new recruitment opportunities to enroll students who meet the economic and academic eligibility requirements for thePercy Ellis Sutton/ Search for Education Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK)program at CUNY SPS and provide proactive and high-quality admissions advising and enrollment support to prospective and applicant SEEK students. The SEEK Senior Admissions Advisor will work closely with staff and faculty across the School to ensure a seamless transition for entering SEEK students.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and process admission applications, make recommendations for admission, track prospect, and applicant data in the School’s CRM and student information system, and provide data as needed for admissions and SEEK program reporting.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with strategic partners to support the admission and enrollment of SEEK students.

  • Represent the School at community events and college fairs, and participate in campus-based admissions activities.

  • Actively engage in the recruitment and selection of new SEEK students through reviewing admission documents, interviewing prospective students, and providing students with important information relevant to the framework and administration of the program.

  • Keep current on federal, state, and University aid regulations and policies as well as other University Office policies and practices which impact financial aid.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid to determine economic eligibility for prospective SEEK students including the status of FAFSA and TAP applications.

  • Analyze current SEEK admissions data to recommend the development of future recruitment plans.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed applicant records.

  • Assist with departmental activities as needed and participate in School-wide events.

NOTE:

· Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence.

· Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.

The ideal candidate will have:

· At least 4 years of experience working in an opportunity program admissions recruitment role.

· Experience working in programs that serve socio-economically disadvantaged students.

· Experience working with nontraditional and transfer students.

· Familiarity with Peoplesoft and/or CUNYfirst and theaptitude to learn new systems as needed.

· Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs and practices.

· Experience working with CRM systems; experience with Slate a plus.

· Ability to build rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty.

· Evidence of proactive problem solving and follow-up to resolve student issues.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

· Ability to work well in a time-sensitive, dynamic, student-centered and responsive office.

· Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Conducts and coordinates student recruiting and other admissions activities.

  • Counsels prospective, transfer, and current students on their academic goals and how they may be achieved at the College, and assists them in preparing academic plans

  • Provides referrals to other College departments as needed to further assist student/applicant

  • Conducts follow-up with students from inquiry stage to registration

  • Reviews applications and provides preliminary recommendations on admissions

  • Participates in recruitment programs such as open house sessions, and direct recruiting activities

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with education and experience between $68,004 - $72,667.
