MongoDB, Inc. Senior Software Engineer in New York, New York
DUTIES: Lead medium to large sized projects from specification to delivery. Collaborate with team members to develop and mature our codebase, best practices, and core concepts through Peer Code Reviews. On the back end, work in Java on our authentication and authorization frameworks which is responsible for processing every single HTTP request made by the UI, the Administration API, and internal services. On the frontend, work in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React on the User Interface which powers experience such as how users register, login and manage organizations, projects, and identity providers. Use tools such as Splunk and Grafana to triage, diagnose, and determine fixes for customer issues. Must be available to work in office three days a week. Work from home is acceptable two days a week.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software engineering or in the job offered or related role.Experience and/or education must include: 1.Writing and reviewing code in Java and experience with Java on the backend of a web application;2.Large Scale Systems Design: designing new features for customers and understanding the current system and determining the best way to extend it;3.Using JavaScript as the primary language on the frontend of a web application and ability to read and write JavaScript; 4.Testing (Unit + Integration Tests) for quality assurance process of the code, extensive unit and integration testing process in order to ensure it is working as expected and continues to work as expected, and understanding how to best test a system and build the system itself at scale; and5.Authentication and Authorization Fundamentals: (Identity and Access Management) where identity is based on authentication and access management is based on authorization fundamentals.
