Citigroup Senior Solutions Architect - C15 - NEW YORK in New York, New York

Job Purpose :

The Shared Operations Solution Architect role is a critical hire within the group to lead solution strategy, architecture, and design across critical initiatives –payments services, global reconciliations, reg. reporting, cash management, and strategic general ledger. The role requires hands on experience in designing, executing, and managing enterprise-wide solution architecture, including process optimization, end-to-end solution design, product roadmap definition, and execution. Successful candidate will partner with SMEs across front line Operations and Technology functions and transformation leads to identify demand drivers, develop business cases, identify process, data, system impacts and develop overall solution design. The role reports directly into the Head of Operations Enterprise Architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain cohesive front-to-back functional and system architecture across shared operations to reduce fragmentation, support shared services, automate controls, and reduce manual touch points

  • Engage with Ops business and technology partners to understand business drivers, gaps, and pain points in current state

  • Lead the design and execution of solution architecture across legacy and target state applications covering current and target state system flows, control definitions, STP vs. manual processing, and data contracts

  • Decompose functionality across legacy, monolithic applications to be reengineered into shared services

  • Promote use of standards, design guard rails, and foundational components to deliver target state solutions

  • Identify optimal technical and data solutions for developing event based micro-services

  • Evaluate low-code / no-code tools to support workflow automation, process mining, reporting and analytics

  • Partner with SMEs across the CTO organization to understand emerging engineering, architecture standards and apply them across critical initiatives

  • Produce high-quality documentation and design artefacts

  • Efficiently build strong working relationship with Tech and Ops partners and become a thought leader in executing the target data strategy

  • Recruit and build a team of business analysts, solution engineers

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Passionate about bringing structure and driving change through front-to-back process re-design

  • 15+ years experience in financial services with 7+ years supporting cross product / functional transformation

  • 5+ years experience leading large scale micro-service projects and/or teams in banking, financial services industry

  • Hands on experience in defining and implementing product roadmap, functionality across front office / operations risk / finance within Markets, Banking, Trade Services or similar business areas

  • Demonstrated expertise with Agile delivery, product management, value stream methodologies

  • Experience with implementing micro-service architectures on cloud platforms and real-time streaming data platforms such as Kafka

  • Experienced in setting and leading Product Management/Governance Councils, Committees and Working Groups, and building reports for multiple levels of management

  • Experience with financial services standards such as ISDA FpML, FIX, ISO20022, internal product / process taxonomies is a plus

  • Experience with financial services regulations such as mandatory execution, BCBS-239, reg. reporting, etc. is a plus

  • Strategic thinker with creative problem solving capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or engineering. Masters degree preferred

  • Agile Scum Master / Value Stream / Product Management certifications

  • Proven track record in producing quality project artefacts, including senior management reports within a technology or risk & controls domain

  • Motivated self-starter with ability to pick up and learn new skills and knowledge quickly and navigate the organization

  • Ability to build and manage strong business analyst teams

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
