Role Outline

The Manager Solutions Team is responsible for maintaining a focused platform of high conviction strategies across traditional asset classes. The platform is leveraged to build discretionary portfolios and advisory solutions for Wealth Management clients across the International Private Bank, the US Private Bank and US Wealth Management businesses. The high caliber team consists of around 40 individuals organized by asset class and based in NY, London and Mumbai.

We are looking for an experienced due diligence analyst with the global equity research team to lead the coverage of a selection of active equity strategies. You will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the existing platform options across multiple vehicle types. You will also need to drive the evolution of the platform going forward, working to bring on high caliber innovative solutions. In addition to leading research efforts you will demonstrate leadership skills helping to train and develop younger team members, and help embrace AI across the team to drive efficiencies and scale insights. A critical part of this role will involves interaction with clients including our internal PMs and client advisers and our key service partners in product, operational due diligence and governance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Global asset class lead for a selection of active equity managers (coverage to be determined based on experience and interest). Responsible for maintenance and evolution of a diverse and high quality platform of active strategies across multiple vehicle and end client types.

  • Ongoing universe research and thought leadership to ensure platform has best options for our clients and stays ahead of market developments. Build strong relationships with internal clients including PMs, specialists and advisers and balance potentially conflicting needs to manage pipeline of new strategies.

  • Detailed due diligence through manager meetings and quantitative analysis to underwrite new strategies and monitor existing ones. Presentation of new platform recommendations to Investment Review Committee.

  • Partnership with internal PM and sales team to ensure they have the options and information they need to manage portfolios and position strategies with clients. Where needed present to advisers and clients to share asset class expertise.

  • Strong working relationship with key service partners in product, operational due diligence and governance to facilitate onboarding of new strategies and management of issues.

  • Development of junior talent on the team.

  • Demonstrate understanding of a broad range of financial and investment principles including equity, credit, options, and risk management

  • Articulate investment underwriting process to both external managers and investors while conveying knowledge and credibility

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant investment experience

  • Experience within manager research with particular expertise in US equity markets with emphasis on traditional long only.

  • Strong quantitative/analytical abilities as well as written/verbal presentation skills

  • Ability to represent the Private Bank to both fund managers and clients

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, ability to manage individuals in remote locations

  • Awareness of ESG

  • CFA or MBA preferable
