Eastern Upper Peninsula Transportation Authority Bus Driver in Newberry, Michigan
General Summary: Under the supervision of the bussing supervisor, the typical duties for a bus driver include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform pre-trip bus inspections on vehicle
- Must be able to work independently
- Be able to handle a fast-paced work enviornment
- Must have time good time management skills and be on time
- Responsible to report any mechanical or operational issues with vehicles to the bussing supervisor or EUPTA mechanic, including routine maintenance needed
- Responsible for daily paperwork and regular bank deposits of cash fares collected
- Responsible to schedule transportation pick-up/drop-off appointments with residents in the community including medical appointments
- The ability and willingness to train in the safe operation of a vehicle wheel chair lift
- Responsible to collect fares/sell tickets as needed
- Ability to be "on-call" throughout work day and available by phone at all times while on duty
- Willingness to work a modified-FLEX schedule seasonally
Qualifications: High School diploma (or equivalent), must have or be willing to obtain a Chauffer's license. Previous safe driving record and exerience required, ability to properly follow instructions (written and verbal), must possess excellent communication skills, must be able to communicate with the public in a professional manner, must pass background check and pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and be willing to submit to random drug testing.
