The Senior Finance Business Partner has accountability for the FP&A, business partnering and reporting processes for the Newcastle and Amsterdam sites. The role entails working with cross-functional teams to improve business processes, leverage IT solutions and drive continuous improvement through supporting timely decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of flash reporting and forecasting variance analysis, working with other associates to ensure that reporting is accurate and robust controls are in place.

  • Provide detailed analysis of COGS including Recoveries, Purchase Price Variance, Material usage, stock obsolescence etc; communicate explanations to Financial Director and site management with recommended actions.

  • Provide variance reporting and investigative analysis against budgets, forecast and yearly performance results.

  • Working cross-function, identify and resolve gaps in reporting which will value-add to the business by capturing and analysing data not currently being measured.

  • Develop scenario analysis and predictive modelling to aid decision making around key business drivers

  • Support Purchase Requisition Review and Capex requests.

  • Reconcile and review allocated balance sheet accounts for compliance with US GAAP and internal financial policies.

  • Ad hoc support as requested by Finance Director and senior management.

  • Lead the implementation of One Stream for LBS Newcastle & train finance team

  • Finance led on SAP project team on implementation of SAP upgrade across all LBS Newcastle departments.

  • Manage the yearly audit engagements (Internal & External), including preparation/collection of all documents, updating audit portals and sample testing as required,

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in large finance ERPs, ideally in SAP (essential).

  • Knowledge of Standard costing, inventory management and manufacturing variances in a Manufacturing environment.

  • An ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and operate within a dynamic fast-paced environment, including working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong Business Partnering skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Track record of taking initiative and driving continuous improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.

  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behaviour throughout the organization.

  • High level of initiative, self-motivation, and energy with the capability to work well across different level of the organisation.

Education

  • Proven experience working within a manufacturing business in a Financial Planning or Analysis role.

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant, or a Bachelor’s/advanced degree with a concentration in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related field required

Travel/Location:

  • Travel expectations within this role are minimal (<10%).

  • This role shall be based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Reporting to:

  • This role reports to the Finance Director, Advanced Staining Reagents.
