Telespazio Belgium Mechanical AIV / AIT Engineering in Noordwijk-Binnen, Netherlands

On behalf of the European Space Agency, we are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical AIV / AIT Engineering to work in ESTEC, in the Netherlands.

What is expected from you:

The candidate will support activities in the AIT/AIV domain on assigned ESA Projects. In particular:

  • Satellite AIT tasks, the candidate will support activities with respect to integration, test and launch campaigns definition, preparation and follow-on.

  • Instrument AIT assignment, the candidate will support integration, alignment, thermo-mechanical testing, calibration and characterization of complex opto-mechanical systems in ambient and TVAC conditions.

  • The candidate will work in close cooperation with Satellite Engineering, AIT/AIV and Payload Managers on Project side, providing, support with respect to all AIT-related aspects, including:

  • Assessment of AIT schedule and associated risks

  • Support to project reviews

  • Support with GSE procurement

  • Preparation and monitoring of integration, alignment and verification test campaigns in line with required AIV and AIT technical competences.

What you offer:

  • At least 5 years experience with Satellite or Instrument AIT/AIV;

  • Proven experience with Assembly, Integration and Test activities definition, implementation and evaluation at satellite system or subsystem levels;

  • Specific experience with complex satellite systems or specific experience with opto-mechanical payloads, together with associated alignment concepts and GSE, will be considered an asset.

  • Sound knowledge of satellite qualification and acceptance testing;

  • Experience with active monitoring and support to industrial AIT activities, including problems troubleshooting and resolution;

  • Effective communication skills;

  • Deep team spirit and teamwork experience;

  • Availability to support missions abroad as requested by Projects;

  • Specific experience with complex satellite systems and/or alignment of optomechanical systems will be considered a strong asset.

Where:

You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency's offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don't expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
