HEAD OF PAYROLL - US AND CANADA - Healthcare Technology Company in Gwinnett County

We are inviting applications for the role of Head of Payroll in the Healthcare Technology industry. This role is based in Norcross. As the Head of Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance with payroll tax and legal requirements, and managing a dedicated team. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and strategic oversight of payroll services for the organization, ensuring effective governance of policies and procedures.

  • Identify improvements and best practices to drive process excellence, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.

  • Proactively mitigate and investigate risk, maintaining effective internal controls for the department, and enhancing controls when necessary to drive risk reduction.

  • Guide the team to identify error root causes, resolutions, and process refinements to prevent and eliminate repetitive errors.

  • Drive efficiencies of payroll-related reporting to support organizational needs; develop payroll metrics to track productivity and performance.

  • Oversee departmental budget and manage relationships with payroll service providers.

  • Act as a subject matter expert and leader ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements; primary point of contact for audits that may arise.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Accounting, Legal, Commissions, Stock Administration, Audit, and Human Resources.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Executives with payroll-related inquiries.

  • Develop long-term strategic plans for the organization and identify capabilities and investments to achieve the plan.

  • Manage team to accomplish results through training, development, performance management, and recognition, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Participate in strategic projects impacting function including new HR system implementation, WorkDay.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Supervisor, Manager, or Director within the Healthcare/NHS industry, with a minimum of 10 years experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites.

  • Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is required.

  • Demonstrable experience with Full Cycle Payroll, Multi-state Payroll, Multistate Payroll, and International Payroll.

  • Proficiency in Payroll, Payroll - Multi-State, Payroll - Over 500 Employees, Payroll Compliance Professional, Payroll Functions, Payroll Management, Payroll Taxes, Process Bi-weekly Payroll, Process Biweekly Payroll, Workday Payroll, and Year-end Payroll.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

  • Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
