Job Description

To provide timely and accurate technology support services relating to computer account lifecycle, which involves: acquisition, account creation, account modification, account deletions, overall account auditing, account management and password management on all supported platforms. This also includes group management, automated management techniques through scripting or batch programming, LDAP and directory understanding and basic troubleshooting. This position related to the department objective by accurately providing the computer accounts needed to ODU faculty, staff and students in order to use the many services provided by ITS .

Working knowledge of multiple operating systems. Working knowledge of client server systems such as Banner or a similar program. Demonstrated skill and ability to utilize personal computers and related software. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated attention to details and workflow processes. Demonstrated ability to interact with computer vendors and University community. Understanding of policy and procedure, and the ability to implement that understanding across a wide range of computer system account management and lifecycle support.

Some experience with systems design and programming techniques.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Previous experience with hardware environment currently utilized by the University is preferred. Previous experience in a similar functional environment is preferred. Considerable experience with operating systems and programming design and techniques. Considerable experience with scripting and batch programming (such as sql, perl, python, shell batch), LDAP and directory concepts, unix, log analysis, data mining and account provisioning processes. Preferred experience where the applicant worked in an accounts management environment with state of the art software tools.

Conditions of Employment

40-hour work week Monday-Friday; Some evenings and weekends; rotating on call. Hybrid work options are available.

This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 42,905
