Job Description

Summary - Responsible for the design of industrial water treatment equipment and associated components, including pumps, heat exchangers, mixers, pressure vessels, valves, and piping systems.

Capable and knowledgeable of working with AutoCAD and/or SOLIDWORKS software to create 2D and 3D drawings and models.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Generates project documentation including equipment general arrangement (GA) drawings, skid/platform layouts and details, spool fabrication details as well as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

Develop site equipment layouts during bid phases to ensure system feasibility. Travel to

customer facilities for site surveys to document and understand equipment locations, restrictions and system connections when required.

Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

Designs products or systems that include instruments, controls, motors, and/or machines.

Support manufacturing installations activities to ensure products and systems conform to

engineering design and customer specifications as well as recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.

Ability to interface with collaborate with outsourced drafting and design team.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering

Technical degree. Candidates with relevant work experience where candidate has demonstrated the ability to perform the required duties and responsibilities may also be considered.

Recent graduate is preferred

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to travel 25% of the time and live in proximity to a major airport.

Desired

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and contract documents.

Ability to document technical information.

Elective college courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer, drafting, CAD or manufacturing

disciplines.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented.

Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.

Strong organizational, communication and PC skills are required.

Adaptive, receptive and continuous learner

SAP or other ERP system experience

Experience with AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS and / or other CAD software.

Preferred work based out of our Norfolk, VA manufacturing location. Proximity to other Veolia business offices may be considered.
