Experimentation Planner - Technical - 20-040

Purpose:

Illustrate the capability and capacity that is provided to Department of the Navy (DON) Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Experimentation Cell (DON-SEC) and its missions, functions and tasks through positions serving the function of the Experimentation Planner.

Job Description:

Position combines experience and skills in facilitating the design and development of limited objective experiments and Fleet experiments with the technical and operational expertise, insight and experience. Technical expertise ensures existing and planned technical systems, components and infrastructure can meet experimentation and training objectives.

Specific duties and functions include:

  • Lead and/or provide expert counsel to DON SEC experimentation team in planning and execution events
  • Ensure analytical questions and elements of information are coupled to experimental doctrine products
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of analytical objectives to ensure material solutions being developed co-evolve with doctrinal and organizational changes
  • Lead and/or provide expert counsel to the development of experimentation objectives and requirements (training, data collection, accreditation, other)
  • Initiates and leads coordination efforts with DON SBIR leadership, staff and experimentation stakeholders
  • When directed, represents NWDC and provides expert SME counsel at Integrated Product Teams (IPT), working groups, conferences and command and user level meetings

  • Active Secret security clearance or above required
  • SSBI eligible
  • US Navy experience (O-3/4, E7-9)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Tactical and/or operational experience
  • OPS/INTEL planning experience
  • Experiment, operational test and/or evaluation experience
  • Technical writing experience
  • Joint Staff a plus

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
