Job Title: Electrical Systems Technician - Shipyard

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of electrical systems aboard the ship, particularly within the Refueling Complex Overhaul program. This role requires the ability to read and interpret various system drawings and documents, and the successful candidate will also contribute to mentoring and training colleagues and customers.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with naval ventilation systems (Mechanical)

  • Ability to read drawings (Chill water, Ventilation, Mechanical Technical Work Document)

  • Experience with Overhaul/Repair/Removal/Installation

  • Knowledge in Flange/Fitting Inspections, Hydrostatic Testing, Corrosion Assessment

  • Repair/Replacement of Constant Flow Regulator, Solenoid, Temperature Regulating Valve & Isolation Valve

  • Hands on experience with US Navy 3-M processes (material, maintenance, and management)

  • Experience with NSTM 300, Navy Tag-out User Manual and 3-M manual

  • Troubleshooting and repair of shipboard ventilation systems (cooling coils, preheaters, ventilation ducting)

Soft Skills

  • Mentoring and training coworkers and customers

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Effective communication and ability to follow detailed instructions

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Work Environment

This position involves working in an outdoor shipyard environment.
