\ Process Engineering Managers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Battery Assembly process engineering team, set goals for responsiveness, and develop implementation plans. Responsible for supporting production goals by driving process optimization, equipment troubleshooting, work standardization, and continuous improvement activities. Plans and directs all process engineering activities and personnel within the assigned battery assembly area & ensures proper and effective support of new product launches. Works as a partner to production to support all production goals through process ownership and improvement. Leads development of robust standardized work and troubleshooting procedures & helps to develop/optimize plant layouts and materials/product flow plans via internal and/or external sources. Assists in the preparation of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (PFMEA), Process Design Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. Leads and/or participates in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility, and ensures participation of direct reports in these activities, as needed. Evaluates departmental training needs, schedules employees for training, and ensures their attendance of both local and outside seminars, as required. Develops annual department goals in support of Rivians stated corporate goals, and reviews and follows-up on the status of achieving these goals. Review, interpret, and summarize data to establish goals for the team and report KPIs to management for area of responsibility in battery assembly. Works closely with manufacturing engineering to support on-time delivery and commissioning of all equipment necessary to support new product launches. Manage team of engineers.\ \ RQMTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering or a related Engineering field and 3 years of [or a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years of] experience in any occupation of process engineer, industrial engineer, or related. Experience must include: engineering experience in high volume manufacturing operation; Using 2D & 3D Modeling tools like AutoCAD, CATIA/ENOVIA, and/or Solid works; Working with DOE, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, Torque Tooling, Error Proofing, and/or PFMEA; Experience in Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean Assembly Principles, Time Studies using MTM or MODAPTS; and using Kaizen, 5S, and/or Lean Six Sigma.
