Stark State College Instructor of Dental Hygiene in North Canton, Ohio

This position is a full-time position responsible for teaching in the Dental Hygiene Program. The responsibilities of the instructor include 3 major areas of emphasis - teaching and teaching-related activities, professional development and scholarship, and service to the College and the community. You'll Be a Great Fit If: You bring current or recent skills from relevant work in the field of dental hygiene; You are skilled developing and implementing innovative approaches to the learning environment including instruction of college courses; You are a subject matter expert in dental hygiene and can develop curriculum as well as revise and implement processes for students and part-time instructors; and You have effective organizational, time management, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Typical Responsibilities Include: Conducting assigned learning activities outlined in course curriculum guidelines.Using appropriate evaluations and assessments of students' progress.Employing a variety of appropriate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.Advising students academically.Enhancing professional development by seeking and using knowledge and maintaining currency in one's discipline.Participating actively in department and division meetings in a collaborative manner with full-time and adjunct faculty. To Be Considered You'll Need: A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited higher education institution. Master's degree preferredA minimum of five years of current or recent experience practicing as a dental hygienist.A current license to practice dental hygiene and/or dentistry in the State of Ohio;Current certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.A minimum of three years of teaching experience in a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited dental program. Teaching experience beyond clinical instruction preferred.Membership in applicable professional association.Accreditation experience is preferred. Click here to view the full job description details.
