What You Will Do

The Sr Manager Logistics Procurement is responsible for driving and implementing the logistics procurement strategy and standards across the US region and is accountable for delivering targeted results in the logistics category (ocean freight, road freight or warehousing). Must have the ability to build and manage successful business partnerships, providing market insights and future expectations.

The role holder must be able to work independently, form strong relationships and have a strategic focus beyond category management and analysis. As part of this role there is a need for stakeholder management with various different departments and levels: Logistics, Finance, Factories, Supply Chain and external suppliers. The Sr Manager Logistics Procurement is expected to balance between the delivery of transparent short-term results and strategic objectives. Continuous improvement is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Procurement results in Logistics services for the US region, maximizing regional benefit and leveraging value of global initiatives, where appropriate.

  • Responsible for delivering commercial agreements which optimize value for spend.

  • Provide market insights and analysis for the major cost elements in the Logistics category and flag potential risks.

  • Build and roll-out the procurement strategy for the Logistics category, focusing on optimization and carbon reduction initiatives.

  • Contribute to the execution of end-to-end logistics and net zero strategies with key stakeholders.

  • Perform procurement activities in alignment with the Logistics strategy, ITGB Procurement processes and ways of working.

  • Drive transformation across the function and capability build towards a ‘fit for future’ organization.

  • Pro-actively drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement to drive costs down while maintaining quality and reducing adverse planetary impact.

  • Identify and manage risks; ensuring that suppliers meet our safety, security and quality requirements and respect our Supplier Code of Conduct. Actively contribute to building business continuity plans.

  • Lead regional RFQs, negotiating and contracting, in conjunction with global logistics and local stakeholders and procurement teams.

  • Ensure compliance of RFx, supplier selection and development tools, such as Supplier Evaluation, Supplier Performance Review, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation, Opportunities, and Innovation.

  • Develop relationships and continually work with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced

  • Undertake adequate analysis and planning to enable effective supplier negotiations which deliver a complete solution and world class cost base.

  • Responsible for tracking benefits gained, value add, KPI’s and other reports.

  • The job holder is expected to perform such other duties as can reasonably be regarded as incidental to the job description, and such other duties reasonably within their experience and capabilities as may be from time-to-time assigned following consultation.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in

  • 4+ years Data Control work experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Knowledge of:

  • Experience in similar roles, ideally with FMCG sector experience, with a proven track record.

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in business economics/logistics/procurement

  • Intellectually curious, able to develop independent perspective based on facts and have conversations around opportunities, risks, issues, and solutions.

  • A proven track record being part of high performing and diverse teams.

  • Continuous improvement and strategic thinking mindset to engage, influence and change.

  • Results-driven, strong performance orientation. Ability to deliver against objectives.

  • Fosters teamwork, creating a work culture that values collaboration.

  • High professional integrity

  • Business acumen, understanding and drive.

Skilled in:

  • Expert negotiation skills, with a strategic mindset.

  • Proven quantitative and qualitative skills; being able to analyze data, draw conclusions, identify trends and issues.

  • Microsoft Office both Excel and Word.

  • Excellent communication skills across multiple formats.

  • Proven influencing skills at a senior level.

Ability to:

  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects

  • Able to work independently

  • Operate a motor vehicle

  • Travel domestically up to 10% and internationally up to 5% of the time

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light weight objects (0-10 lbs.).

  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape
