Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Fabrication Specialist (Level C) to support the Fabrication Emergent Operations Team over the EOSC Wire Shop in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable Shift!

Emergent Operations is seeking an Experienced Fabrication Specialist (Level C) that is willing to teach, learn and maintain the commitment to safety and quality that is EOSC. The EO Wire Shop provides complex wire repair/rework assistance to support the 787 assembly line and Delivery Center. This can include but not limited to: single wire replacement; wire bundle replacement; wire terminations; shielded splices; connector replacement or assembly; wire bundle modification and wire bundle fabrication. This statement of work is in shop, on the factory floor or on the flight line; covering the entire North Charleston factory site.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs fabrication and/or assembly processes on the airplane to build and assemble wire bundles, electrical shelves or panels as required.

  • Determines set-up and the materials, parts, standards, and tools required for job by reviewing information from multiple sources (e.g., ECAT (Electrical Corrective Action Team), ERU (Electrical Response Unit), Electrical Connector Assembly Diagram (ECAD) or Engineering drawing as required.

  • Determines work sequence, parts tracking, etc. as required.

  • Prepares materials, parts, standards, and tools as required, from Parts Control Area (PCA), satellite storage carts, roto bin, or other location.

  • Ensures that parts selected are correct for the part number/airplane and are free of visible defects.

  • Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.

  • Performs complex wire harness repairs and re-work.

  • Executes Supplier wire bundle modifications and bundle changes.

  • Performs tests on wire harnesses to verify correct build and serviceability.

  • Removes and replaces circular, rectangular, in-line and quick disconnect connectors.

  • Installs and re-works pressure feed through fittings.

  • Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements.

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of this position.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Must be willing to work any shift assigned (1st, 2nd, 3rd, weekend, overtime).

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical wire installation and routing design.

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting production illustrations (PI).

  • 1+ year of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication or Manufacturing.

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or blueprints.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain confined space certification.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain fall protection certification.

  • Ability to work from heights up to 50 feet from ground level.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 4+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical systems trouble shooting and fault repair.

  • 1+ years of 787 Program experience.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $59,220 - $60,480.
