Job Description

As a key member of AbbVie’s Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EEDI) team, the Associate Director, EEDI Strategic Enablement leader will be a trusted partner - helping to shape our culture, support our business strategies and find and develop the talent necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients around the world.

In this position, you will understand the business strategy and partner with HR and business leaders to build and implement EEDI strategies and tactics to support the business plans and achievements of both short-term and long-term strategic objectives. You will implement, oversee, and sustain key components of the EEDI strategy - including portfolio management while ensuring progress against the roadmap. To ensure progress, you will be closely tracking key metrics, using a data-driven approach to maintain momentum through measurable, quantitative insights. You will use data to clearly communicate the impact this work has across AbbVie and different business areas. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as a primary strategic partner to the EEDI team, developing strategy, needs assessments and resulting solutions.

  • Coordinate and implement HR strategies to meet organization and business needs of a global F100 business.

  • Responsible for ensuring the effective “delivery” of all EEDI programs and services for client groups.

  • Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with key HR and business partners to ensure elements of EEDI are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; includes relationship management, leadership, HR roles & responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.

  • Develop proposals and recommendations to resolve strategically important issues.

  • Drive people manager development to create clarity and consistency of expectations, accountability, and enriched manager/employee experiences.

  • May require international travel up to 2 times per year.

  • Act as an ambassador of the EEDI organization – representing the services, support and resources available to the business, while helping to manage the global reputation of the AbbVie organization as a whole.

  • Communicate project information to stakeholders, design templates, create presentations, review, and edit project deliverables. Manage to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years progressive relevant experience in HR or a related field. Experience supporting a global business and partnering with international-based business leaders and HR colleagues.

  • 5+ years progressive relevant experience in a F100 company with primary responsibility within the diversity and inclusion team.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills – with the ability to conceptualize the organization, planning and introduction of projects (envisioning through implementation) required.

  • Ability to strategically understand and interpret data to create a compelling workforce strategy.

  • Passion for delivering an inclusive employee experience across a diverse workforce.

  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business.

  • Strong ability to harness collective power within cross functional project work.

  • Must be a self-starter with commitment to transparency and problem solving in a complex and demanding environment.

  • Ability to work onsite in Lake County IL 3 days per week

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
