The Business Development Manager will focus on finding and winning new business opportunities that will support the Division to meet aggressive growth objectives set forth in its Strategic Positioning Plan. They will be responsible for:

  • Driving profitable growth for the Metal Seals and Materials products within the Composite Sealing Systems (CSS) Division

  • Leading a team of Market Managers, and working alongside them in key markets, to generate and convert new business opportunities.

  • Collaborating with the Strategic Pricing Team to implement pricing strategies for metal products.

  • Collaborating with digital marketing team to establish and execute promotional strategies showing the value of the metal products and services.

  • Engaging with field sales teams to build a trusted partner relationships at customers, driving new opportunities toward CSS.

  • Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and others to effectively complete complex multifunctional projects.

-Develops strategic and tactical plans to achieve short and long-term objectives, utilizing market research to make data driven decisions.

-Conducts competitive research, evaluates sales performance, and formulates goals and milestones for specific products and systems.

-Applies thorough understanding of the division’s technical capabilities, operational capacity, and market information to influence future plans and strategies.

-Develops and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs and further develop business opportunities.

-Identifies opportunities for business development by studying competitors’ products, benchmarking offerings, identifying customer needs, identifying trends, and obtaining market intel.

-Serves as technical subject expert and resource. Represents company on specific projects. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).

-Deliverables for the position include but are not limited to:

-Creating a strategy to grow the metal seals and materials.

-Leading, motivating, and influencing their team to drive success of the strategy

-Developing and launching new business with existing customers and new customers.

-Identification of new products, technologies and markets for the Division to pursue.

-Managing bids, proposals, and business cases for new business opportunities.

-Clear and concise communication (written & verbal) of strategies, projects, and performance.

-Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Marketing, Engineering, or related field. MBA desired.

-Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job, typically acquired through ten or more years of increasing responsibilities.

-Comprehensive knowledge of principles, industry practices, company products, technology, regulations, service capabilities, and policies related to marketing and business development.

-Knowledge of program management and business processes and procedures, including technical and business proposal development.

-Ability to work on most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or incomplete data; understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective.

-Ability to use standard business applications software. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and colleagues.

-Ability to translate customer desires and projected requirements into business development strategies and develop solutions to customer problems.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $113,579 annually to $198,823 annually.
