Wis-Pak of Mankato Inc 2nd Shift Production Supervisor in North Mankato, Minnesota

Job Brief The Shift Supervisor oversees all shift employees and complies with all safety, quality, quantity and housekeeping standards. They will assure that all personnel are properly trained and follow all policies and procedures set forth by Wis-Pak. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual) Supervise all personnel and operations during shift. Maintain low cost, high quality production practices. Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Organize work schedules for all lines. Using the electronic scheduling system, adjust production schedules as necessary. Follow and enforce all Wis-Pak policies and procedures. Responsible for meeting production quality and quantity standards during shift. Daily updates with following Shift Supervisor. Review daily production paperwork for accuracy. Work with other departments to enhance efficiency and productivity. Complete thorough documentation of production or employee behavioral events. Enforces all general and departmental safety rules and regulations. Insures that all accidents are reported and that first aid is given in case of injury. Completely and thoroughly investigates all accidents regardless if any injury occurred or not.Completes accident investigation reports to the best of their ability.Takes immediate corrective action to eliminate or reduce the chances of recurrence. Reviews work procedures on a regular basis with particular attention to those that have been involved with accidents or show high potential for loss of potential for severe accidents. Follows up on recommendations from accident investigations, inspection reports. Follow and enforce all Wis-Pak food safety requirements as presented in the Food Safety policy. Insure all required food safety documentation is accurate and complete. JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties) Interviewing candidates for employment. Conducts training with new employees and retraining with current employees.Instructs each employee concerning the hazards of the job, and how to avoid injury. Inspects their area of responsibility for housekeeping, physical hazards and safe work procedures daily. Insure employees are fully trained with food safety. Participate in food safety training, meetings and reviews. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write and solve problems. Must have general computer knowledge and data entry skills. Have good people skills and team building skills. Must have some Manufacturing/Production background. Supervisory experience is preferred.
