COUNTY OF LINCOLN Detention Officer in North Platte, Nebraska
Overview: We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Detention Officers. As a Detention Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our Detention facility. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and integrity.
Duties: - Maintain order and discipline within the detention facility - Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the facility - Monitor inmate activities and ensure compliance with rules and regulations - Conduct searches for contraband items - Respond to emergencies and incidents within the facility - Prepare written reports on incidents, activities, and inmate behavior - Operate CCTV systems to monitor inmate movement and behavior - Escort inmates to various locations within the facility - Assist in the transportation of inmates as needed
Experience: - Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred but not required - Knowledge of report writing procedures and techniques preferred but not required - Familiarity with CCTV systems and their operation preferred but not required - Ability to work in a militarized environment - First aid, CPR, and conflict management training/certification is a plus

Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Must be at least 19 years old (age requirements may vary by state) - Must pass a thorough background check and drug screening - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment - Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.01 - $25.66 per hour - There will be a minimum5% increase in pay starting September 2024.
