Merck Senior Specialist, Knowledge Management in North Wales, Pennsylvania

Job Description

As a Senior Specialist in Knowledge Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Human Health Digital, Data, and Analytics (HHDDA) organization by curating and developing impactful knowledge products. Your work will focus on building awareness and understanding of digital, data, and analytic capabilities, empowering our business stakeholders, leaders, and teams to navigate and leverage these tools effectively. By systematically collecting, organizing, and analyzing knowledge assets, you will facilitate the education and enablement of our Human Health stakeholders, driving the human health digital and data transformation.

The Senior Specialist will report to the Associate Director, Knowledge Exchange Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that critical knowledge is identified, documented, and made accessible to relevant parties.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and Facilitating Engaging Education Forums: Create and implement comprehensive learning events, such as Digital Day, that foster connections among individuals, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote continuous learning.

  • Developing Knowledge Assets for Core Capabilities: Construct and refine high-quality knowledge products that support our essential enabling and premier capabilities, ensuring they are relevant, accessible, and user-friendly.

  • Coaching and Collaborating with Product Owners: Partner with product owners to effectively highlight and demonstrate capabilities through compelling success stories, showcasing the value and impact of our digital and analytic solutions.

  • Curating and Organizing Knowledge Resources: Systematically gather and synthesize information from diverse organizational sources—including documents, data repositories, and subject matter experts—to create a well-structured knowledge base that aligns with the HHDDA business taxonomy.

  • Collaborating Across Functions to Identify Knowledge Needs: Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess their specific knowledge requirements and develop tailored strategies, including content creation, educational programs, and knowledge transfer initiatives, to address those needs.

  • Fostering a Culture of Knowledge Sharing: Champion a collaborative environment that encourages employees to contribute to and access the knowledge base. Establish effective dissemination channels, including intranet portals, newsletters, and communities of practice, to enhance knowledge accessibility.

  • Evaluating and Optimizing Knowledge Management Effectiveness: Assess the performance of knowledge management channels and forums, gathering feedback to make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement and greater impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Proven experience in knowledge management, preferably in change management or organizational development.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating effective and engaging learning experiences.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
