Forensic Social Worker (LICSW)- Hybrid Location - 15 Gothic Street, , Northampton, MA, 01060, United States Job Category - Health Care, Nonprofit - Social Services Employee Type - Full-Time Required Degree - Masters Minimum Experience - 1 Year Maximum Experience - 3 Years Description Are you a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker experienced working with mental illness and substance abuse? The Forensic Social Worker?s primarily role is to perform court ordered evaluations with mentally ill or substance using individuals in criminal and civil matters per MGL 123 - specifically, ?35, ?12a, and ?15e evaluations for half of the work shift (20 hours). The other half (20 hours) will provide clinical screening, psychosocial assessments, and treatment planning for the Greenfield Family Wellness Court (A Specialty Court program in Greenfield Probate Court), in conjunction with the probation officer and in accordance with Adult Drug Court Operational Procedure. Also Support the continuing development of the Greenfield Family Wellness Court and work in collaboration with the Family Wellness Court team by providing clinical insights to enhance the development of improvements in the assessment and placement process. This position is hybrid, with potential to work remote 2 or 3 days a week. Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Adult Court Clinic with the following: Provides evaluations to District and Superior Court - Performs court-ordered evaluations in criminal and civil matters per MGL Chapter 123 within the guidelines established by DFMH. Consults with judges, attorneys, probation officers, and community mental health and substance abuse treatment providers regarding mental health and substance abuse issues, and the disposition of mentally ill and substance abusing defendants and respondents. Completes reports in a timely manner to meet the court?s needs. Provides testimony to the courts. Communicates with jail mental health staff as needed regarding defendants? mental health and substance abuse concerns. Coordinates with crisis services when acute care is needed. Coordinates with community providers regarding referrals for services for forensic clients. Documents for services in a manner that is compliant with all applicable rules/regulations. Arranges for placement of committed individuals. Educate the Family Wellness Court team on clinical perspectives. Assist with building linkages with and engaging community-based service providers to help enhance the success of Family Wellness Court participants. Assist in level of care and treatment recommendations for Family Wellness Court participants as needed. Help engage participants and their families, in consultation with the Family Wellness Court team, to maximize participant success. Coordinate and partner with probation, and participate, when appropriate, on home visits and community contacts. Provide testimony, if required, to the court on the status of each Family Wellness Court participant. Recommend adjustments to the treatment plan for the participant model in collaboration with the Family Wellness Court team What are we looking for in a Forensic Court Social Worker? Master\'s degree in social work required. Independent licensure required. Must meet eligibility for Qualified Social Worker credential: work experience with mental illness and substance abuse Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated exceptional communication, organization, verbal, and written skills. Willingness/ability to travel for work. Possess a valid driver?s license. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, preferably over 3-5 years. Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders and court-involved criminal defendants. The salary range for this position is \$80,000 to \$84,000 per year.
