Reporting to the General Manager, the Mobile Maintenance Manager provides oversight and direction for the maintenance department working closely with planning and scheduling, operations, reliability, and supply chain to ensure the timely execution of the maintenance function. The position will lead the multi-skill maintenance team to implement technical best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst coaching the department. The role will focus on improving equipment uptime by reducing downtime, mean time between failures, mean time to repair and driving key performance indicators (KPI’s) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are followed.

Main Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and processes that align with corporate targets to optimize the performance and reliability of all equipment;

• Provide strategic execution of the asset management principles for the equipment life cycle

• Facilitate respectful and cooperative interdepartmental communications as part of the Senior Management Team;

• Lead coach and mentor the Mobile Maintenance team to ensure equipment availability and reliability targets are met or exceeded while controlling costs;

• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures;

• Establish Work Standards and Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of responsibility to ensure efficient, productive, safe, and high-quality standards;

• Lead, manage, coordinate and coach the maintenance leadership team ensuring that high standards are cascaded throughout the department;

• Organize and direct maintenance practices to ensure they are meeting, or exceeding operational targets;

• Establish and report out on leading and lagging KPI’s related to maintenance planning and scheduling in an accurate and timely manner;

• Promote and implement continuous improvement actions in all aspects of Maintenance;

• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for the Maintenance;

• Develop high levels of Budget understanding and compliance throughout the Maintenance leadership team;

• Maintain a solid awareness of the business and other departmental needs required of the Maintenance Department to meet or exceed company objectives;

• Develop and sustain good inter-departmental relationships;

• Participate in Leadership in the Field to maintain site wide operational awareness;

• Demonstrate and ensure all employees adhere to the expectations and principles of the company’s values;

• Review, assess and manage the maintenance leadership’s performance;

• Implementation of fair and consistent corrective action when required commensurate with Company Policies;

• Lead the execution of the maintenance activities of the mobile mining equipment in order to guarantee of the efficient and effective operation of the equipment;

• Provide technical feedback and complete technical bid evaluations for assets during the procurement process

Main Qualifications

College Diploma - Trade or technical diploma

Bachelor’s Degree -Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

7+ years of progressive leadership experience

10 years of experience with surface mobile mining equipment

Red Seal Certified tradesman

Advanced experience with computerized maintenance systems, SAP experience

Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Project
