What will you do?

As an Inside Sales and Quotation Specialist, with a focus on water and wastewater, you will be responsible for preparing quotations for Engineered Factory Automation Solutions. Reporting functionally to the Application Engineering Lead, you will play an instrumental role in supporting both pre- and post-sales activities for our Industrial Automation and VFD business in Canada.

  • Reviewing RFQ’s and Preparing Automation and VFD panel solution proposal meeting customer requirements.

  • Working closely with Siemens Sales Organization and Siemens Solution Partners, to demonstrate the Siemens value proposition and benefits of Siemens Industrial Automation and Drives portfolio to the potential customers.

  • Your understanding of our value-added service offerings is paramount in partnering with customers to further understand their needs in order to provide them with a technical Consultative solution

  • Develop specifications and prepare detailed quotations that meet client requirements.

  • Provide technical support throughout the sales process, enhancing customer satisfaction and ensuring prompt service.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to drive the success of sales initiatives.

  • Your passion for exceeding customer expectations and your sense of urgency in responding to client needs will be crucial in this role.

The Product Line for Factory Automation includes SIMATIC Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed I/O, HMI, SCADA, Industrial PCs, Power Supply and Variable frequency drives Specialty Modules required for automation and motion applications.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understand customer’s technical requirements and develop Bill of Material of products such as VFD’s. PLC and HMI and pricing that meets customer spec by work with local solution partners and Siemens factories to develop the final customer quotation including technical and commercial.

  • Ability to assess technical and commercial risks and knowledge of methodology mitigating the identified risks.

  • Answer Customer’s Technical questions and provide necessary Technical and commercial clarifications.

  • Ability to handle multiplier projects at the same time and co-ordinate with vendors, internal and external customers

  • Ability to understand Electrical and Electronics Engineering Terminology/specifications and translate this to the quote preparation

  • Technically represent and interface with Siemens HQ and Competence center on complex customer projects

  • Engage with our target market segments and continually work to improve technical skills and knowledge.

  • Prepare project hand over documentation and support order managements during project execution.

  • Comply to all the process and procedures related to the job.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • The ideal candidate will have technical experience/knowledge in Industrial automation and strong knowledge of SCADA HMI Networks and PLC systems

  • Knowledge of Factory Automation and Variable Frequency drive product and applications.

  • Strong knowledge in Electrical and Electronics theory

  • Knowledge on Quotation preparation experience with Industrial Automation and Drives panels will be an asset.

  • Familiar with other Industrial Automation Platforms and Industrial

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks

  • Resourceful and detail oriented

  • Embodies the skills of being a strategic thinker and a good listener and applies them to learning quickly.
