Ford Motor Company Team Manager - Maintenance in Oakville, Ontario
The Team Manager - Maintenance will provide a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the Oakville Assembly Complex (OAC) leadership team, retooling and launching the new Final Assembly area and its maintenance workforce in support of Super Duty production.
Lead department Health & Safety program for skilled trades workforce by monitoring and coaching of maintenance teams for compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards, deliver departmental safety performance to objective during construction, equipment readiness and compliance checks, preventative maintenance, and off-standard work activities.
Utilize data-driven maintenance processes to improve department performance metrics (e.g., higher productivity, reduced production scrap, and lower Maintenance Cost Per Unit)
Validate and bridge operational needs as required to ensure the line is running safely, efficiently, and producing quality parts at rate.
Coordinate and lead maintenance activities and shift-to-shift communication across teams to ensure smooth equipment and system start-up.
Facilitate skilled trades team knowledge of constraints and provide resources for activities to eliminate throughput bottlenecks.
Lead capital project initiation for equipment wellness, manage skilled trades Labour & Overhead Budget, critical spare part and Industrial materials inventory, repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews.
Coach, counsel and lead skilled trades workforce and maintenance teams to world-class technical excellence. Create a team environment that is founded on accountability, teamwork, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
Drive Maintenance Operating System within the Final Assembly department to deliver prioritized preventive and predictive maintenance plan designed to improve productivity.
Develop Maintenance and Engineering support personnel to possess superior levels of technical capability, teamwork and collaboration, and servant leadership skills.
Cascade communication and provide team recognition.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other
Five (5) years of supervisory experience leading maintenance activities
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
Work flexible hours that may include nights, weekends, and overtime
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other
Advanced supervisory experience in high-speed manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Prior leadership experience in a unionized workforce
