Production Supervisor

Job Summary Details

• Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

• Directs and supervises activities of machine operators and forklift drivers on shift.

• Collaborates with manager of preventative maintenance to schedule activities.

• Completes reports for production numbers, down time, attendance, overtime and quality checks and submits to Production Manager.

• Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

• Participate in interviews with hiring managers.

• Trains, coaches and reviews performance of employees. Works with HR for employee discipline issues, terminations and recruitment.

• Participates in safety team activities. Monitors and enforces safety requirements.

• Conducts weekly safety talk trainings, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly safety walks.

• Builds a positive work environment.

• Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

• Maintains time and production records.

• Develops capital equipment justification for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.

• Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials.

• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Work Experience/KSA’s

• Required:

o 3-5 years experience in the field

o 0-2 year(s) experience supervising employees

o 5-7 years experience in the field

o 2-4 years experience supervising employees

• Understanding of production processes and controls

• Ability to work well under pressure in fast paced environment

• Ability to work efficiently as well as safely

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels

Education

• Minimum Required:

o High School Diploma
