Position Overview

As a Corporate Financial Analyst, you will be an integral part of a small team of finance professionals. You will conduct financial analysis and modeling related to corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investment analysis, tax investment analysis, operational analysis and project finance. You will also assist with industry/market research, evaluation of new market opportunities and the review of potential acquisition targets. #LI-WJ1

Our Strategy and Development team supports strategic growth and development initiatives within Kiewit’s markets as well as Kiewit’s overall capital allocation initiatives. Work includes conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analyses, detailed financial modelling, company and market research, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investment analysis, tax investment analysis, operational analysis, project finance, evaluation of new market opportunities and the review of potential acquisition targets.

Location

This role will be based out of our headquarters at 1550 Mike Fahey Street in Omaha Nebraska, with some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial models to evaluate potential construction and corporate projects, including pro-forma financial statements, financial/economic impact, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.

• Review acquisition targets, prepare valuation models to evaluate deal risk, reward, and financial/shareholder impact, and assist with due diligence of acquisition targets.

• Conduct company research on customers, competitors, subcontractors, and owners.

• Develop industry reviews and market analyses.

• Ad-hoc financial modeling or other various projects, such as strategic business reviews/business planning.

• Create clear and concise, models, memos, reports, and presentations. Ability to effectively communicate results/key facts to management.

• Follow general economic and engineering & construction industry trends.

• Potential travel required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, or related field. 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, asset or business valuation, and general research.

• If recent graduate, demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial concepts through coursework and/or internship(s)

• Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

• Ability and willingness to travel within the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

• Disciplined and self-motivated.

• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

• Ability to contribute analytical support to larger, team-based projects.

• Demonstrated ability to present complex information in a simplified, clear way.

• Must be detailed oriented.
