The licensed commercial Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical codes, safety procedures, and best practices. The licensed Electrician will works independently or as part of a team to ensure the efficient and safe operation of electrical systems.  

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this job is $17 - $35.5 / hour

Responsibilities:

• A commercial electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings such as offices, retail stores, and industrial facilities.

• They interpret blueprints, follow electrical code standards, and use various tools to ensure that electrical systems are safe and efficient.

• Commercial electricians troubleshoot electrical issues, install wiring and lighting systems, and may work on projects involving HVAC systems, security systems, and fire alarms.

• Operate various hand and power tools required for electrical work

• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Collaborate with other trades (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) to coordinate projects

Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent

• Current journeyman/apprentice electrician license in Utah

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of electrical principles are essential for this role.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints

• Knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes

• Skilled in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools
