Job Purpose & Expectations:

• Under direct supervision, provides checking duties and coordination of drafting personnel within engineering group.

• Compiles visual perception of EFCO Corp.'s products to be used in sales, manufacturing and erection of EFCO steel forms.

• Recommends updates to drafting and engineering standards.

• Utilizes knowledge of various equipment, engineering practices, mathematics and other means to check accuracy of drawings to meet district and corporate objectives.

• Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• Includes CAD Designer 3 purpose and expectations.

  Essential Functions: Lists major actions performed in the job. Describes what occurs and the reason the action is taken. Provides impact of each action by indicating percentage of time spent performing the functions.

  1. Checks and assembles erection drawings to be used in both custom and standard projects from drafters and other engineering personnel. Works closely with all key personnel to ensure that drawings convey the correct information are error free. Review entered e-lists.

  3. Reviews detailed mechanical drawings produced by drafters and other engineering personnel for manufacturing and warehouse applications.

  4. Acts in a liaison capacity with warehouse to troubleshoot assembly problems. Reviews with Drafters, District Engineer, Corporate Production Engineer or other management personnel as needed.

  5. Serves as back-up to Corporate Production Engineer to supervise and direct workflow, as needed. Works closely with engineering staff to ensure goals are met.

  6. Develops and coordinates guidelines used in training for EFCO Corp.'s policies, procedures and forming systems. Recommends changes and works with appropriate management personnel.

  7. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required including but not limited to entering equipment lists and making adjustments appropriately.

  Requirements:

  Associates degree or equivalent, plus minimum of 2-5 years experience in drafting, checking or other engineering related position. General construction knowledge along with ability to read and interpret blueprints required. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations is essential. Must have Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience from past EFCO position or work experience. Problem solving, organizational and PC skills are required. No travel required.
